Music Theory

Well, I'll start a little more formal issue. I will explain the basics to further understand a little advanced stuff.

Music Elements

  • The tune is a sound set -concebidos within a particular sound field sounding forth one after another (horizontal view), and that perceived identity and self respect. Also silences are part of the structure of the melody, putting pauses "speech melody". The result is like a semantically and grammatically well constructed sentence. In this sense, is debatable whether a twelve-tone sequence could be considered a tune or not. When two or more simultaneous melodies called counterpoint.
  • Harmony, under a vertical conception of sound, and whose basic unit is the line, governs the agreement between sounds played simultaneously and link with neighboring sounds.
  • The metric refers to the pattern repeat at regular intervals, and certain irregular occasions, strong or weak sounds and silences in a composition.
  • The rhythm is the end result of the above, sometimes with major variations, but in a very general assessment it is the ability to generate contrast in music, this is caused by the different dynamics, timbres, textures and sounds .

In summary MELODY are the notes we know (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si) with alterations (sharps and flats). HARMONY is the set of two or more notes played simultaneously (of course there are rules for that). The MEASURE could say that is the kind of measure where you're running, or listening to music, could modify the metric of a bar playing different musical figures. RHYTHM means clearer when a battery is what makes us hear the rhythm, but each instrument must be executed at the same rate.

The music is also a little math, this helps us to better understand the types of compasses and how to execute them. And to me both music and mathematics are exact.

I will let you know of an image to be addressed by the next topic.

This is a score where we found a clef, a bar in 4/4 (four quarters) and the speed is 120 bpm (beats per minute or beats per minute). We may also see bar lines and double bar. If you noticed there are numbers above the compasses, this means the measure number; in this case there are only three compasses.
